We are very pleased to offer a real slice of the eighties with a very well preserved and original 1988 Austin Mini City E. Finished in the period colour of Pulsar Silver with contrasting white Minilite wheels, chrome spot lamps, grille and bumpers. The Mini has only covered a very low 39 thousand miles in 28 years with just five previous owners. It is accompanied with a service history folder that also has many years of MOT certificates. The City E Minis from this era are a are sight these days as so many were modified and changed, in this spec they offer the pure Mini driving experience, easy to use and ready to go anywhere.
On the road this City E drives very well, the low mileage 998 engine is very quiet and has great performance, a well tuned and cared for 998 is huge fun and really gives the focussed driver the opportunity to enjoy the precision handling that the Mini has to offer. The gearbox is also as you would expect, taught and precise. The City E was created with fuel economy in mind so they have slightly taller gearing giving some impressive MPG even by todays standards. The Mini is more than happy at speed but as with all good Minis happier on the twisty stuff making you smile. This model also benefits from servo operated disc brakes and the original twelve inch wheels which give a precise and smooth ride. Plenty to make you want to keep driving.
The interior is pure eighties and is in totally original condition, as sure sign that this Mini has been well cared for. The original Crayon trim seats are in very good condition as are the door cards and the roof liner that still looks new. It also has its original carpets and Austin Rover floor matts. The original stereo has been upgraded allowing USB input. This model also has rear seat belts.
The Mini has a very solid shell and with the correct original vented sills, original body coloured floors and solid subframes. It is also body coloured inside all four inner arches. The paintwork is well presented and again appears to be mostly original with the odd minor age related blemish, it does ware its vintage very well and in this condition becoming very rare.
This City is fully serviced, tuned, checked and driven and we have just fitted new brake callipers, discs and pads. It also has a long MOT with all of the advisories completed. It will also be MOT and Tax exempt in 2 years. The City is a great proposition, low mileage and well cared for and it is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
