We are very pleased to offer a wonderful eighties time warp 1982 Austin Mini City e. Finished in Nautilus Blue with contrasting Hounds Tooth trim this little gem has changed very little during its 44 year life showing just 22 thousand miles and having only six previous owners in that time. It is presented in very original condition and very close to how it left the factory. This City benefits from a recent thorough recommission after 30 years in dry storage and benefits from a huge amount of time and a long list of parts lavished on it. The end result is a rare Mini that has that jump in and drive anywhere feel. It is so refreshing to prepare an original spec City e that is actaully a very rare sight these days. It is accompanied with a huge and highly detailed service history folder pretty much covering its whole life.
1984 was officially the last year of the very sought after ten inch wheels and centre clock dash and the City e was unique in that offered the pure basic Mini experience and echoed the early examples yet being more practical and useable on a daily basis. These Early eighties ten inch wheel examples have now become rare and in preserved state like our example are becoming very sought after. The City was a very well thought out edition with taller gearing for improved fuel economy achieving over 40 MPG and reaching a higher top speed of the other models offered at the time.
On the road this City is great fun to drive. The engine is very smooth with brisk performance and the gearbox is also very precise. This is the no frills Mini driving experience and its easy to use and has fantastic handling which you will discover when pressing on through the twisty stuff. There is nothing to distract the driver, just a simple single speedo and a steering wheel what more could you want?
This City had an amazing interior which has been completely refreshed whilst still being very original. The Hounds Tooth check seats are like new as is the roof liner, door cards and original carpet set. It also has its original steering wheel. It has never had a radio fitted but does benefit from a Phone holder and USB charger instead of the ashtray. It has also been fitted with a very useful alarm.
The Mini has a very solid shell and with the correct vented sills, solid floors and subframes. The engine bay has also been refreshed and is very well presented. The paintwork is gleaming and it presents very well and certainly gets lots of attention especially in this wonderful eighties spec.
This City is fully serviced, tuned, checked and driven and has a long list of new parts. It also has a full no advisory MOT as well as being MOT and Tax exempt. It is ready to be enjoyed. Hopefully its new owner will appreciate its originality and preserve it for many years to come. It could happily sit on display at any show or just make you smile out on the open road.
