We are very pleased to offer an ever popular and very versatile 1982 Austin Mini Clubman Estate HL. I am a life long fan of this variant and have owned many and I believe that they are virtually unique in the Classic Car world, they offer all the charm of the Classic Mini, have cool looks and are hugely versatile, as useful as a Van and yet can carry four people. Coupled to the fact that they are getting very rare now make them a fantastic proposition.
This example is one of the super rare HL models that were introduced at the end of Clubman Estate production, the wonderful Enberglow Red paint finish, Gold coach lines, check trim and Sundym glass really make it stand out from the crowd and are wonderfully eighties. This HL has all of its original features and has been preserved very well. It has been maintained by us for the last couple of years and we have recently upgraded the braking system to Cooper S discs and fitted numerous suspension components including adjustable height suspension and electronic ignition. It is accompanied with a large service history folder pointing to lots of care and attention over the years, showing 25k miles but assume at some point it has had a clock change which is fairly common with clocks from this era.
On the road it is an absolute pleasure to drive. The 998 engine is very smooth and has plenty of power when required, the gearbox is also smooth and precise. I have thoroughly enjoyed driving this Estate as they have a smooth ride and are just great fun. The handling is fantastic on the ten inch wheels and thanks to a disc brake upgrade you can push on with confidence. What you will need to prepare yourself for is all the attention you will receive as the condition amazes people and the fact that you are driving a Mini Clubman Estate, they are such a rare sight these days.
The interior is beautifully presented and a real time warp. It has those fantastic HL check tan seats with its original door cards and virtually blemish free roof liner. The rear load area is gleaming and folding the seats down flat takes seconds and its instantly ready for a trip anywhere. It also has its original two clock dash and the correct period steering wheel. It also has a very useful 12v socket.
The Clubman has a very solid shell and has been well maintained, it has body coloured floor pans, the correct vented sills and excellent subframes. The engine is bay is also nicely detailed. The paintwork is gleaming and virtually blemish free, this Clubman could proudly be displayed anywhere but really more than happy being used, driven and enjoyed.
The Mini is fully serviced, checked and driven. It has long MOT with all of the advisories complete with a corresponding invoice. It is also MOT and Tax exempt.
