We are very pleased to offer an absolutely stunning and very rare 2001 “Y” Rover Mini Seven. Produced at the very end of Classic Mini production along with the Cooper Sport, they offered a very classy and subtle alternative to the Cooper and paid homage to the very first Minis produced back in 59 with simple styling and sharing the name with the very first Minis. They were produced in three colours, Solar Red, Black and Old English white. Only 374 were produced in this colour making them very rare. This Seven was registered new by Evans Halshaw in Birmingham on the 5th of May 2001 making it one of the last Classic Minis registered. It has only covered 26k in 24 years with just two previous owners, the last since 2018. It is accompanied with a comprehensive service history including every MOT certificate, a raft of receipts and both sets of keys and fobs. It has been waxoiled from new and has never been welded or had any replacement panels making this a very rare example that has clearly had a very cared for life. We have also just treated it to a sexy set of Superlite wheels, colour coded wheel arches and twin spot lamps adding to this Minis amazing appearance.
On the road its an absolute pleasure to drive, and has the same 1275 multi point fuel injected engine as the Cooper so expect great performance, it really does go very well and the gearbox has a precise and taught feel. Wider profile tyres not only give it a better stance but also mean the handling is fantastic. Being an MPI Mini means it is also very easy to use, simply turn the key and go. Features include, drivers airbag, side impact beams, rear seat belts, alarm and immobiliser, servo disc brakes and taller gearing making long distance cruising fun. The performance will certainly surprise and the Mini will keep up with most things on the twisty stuff and of course make you smile.
The Seven interior is very well presented with half leather cream and red seats and that very stylish colour coded dash with three Magnolia clocks including a rev counter and analogue clock. The original Rover cassette player is present and correct. The roof liner, door cards and carpets are all well preserved a testament to this Sevens cared for life.
This Mini has a very solid shell and was wax-oiled from new. As mentioned it has never had any welding and has all of its original panels. It even has its original exhaust. The boot floor is untouched and the original Pirelli spare wheel has never been used. The engine bay is nicely detailed and the subframes are solid. The paintwork is stunning and belies its vintage. This is a very good looking Mini that offers subtle good looks that really get noticed and it also puts you in a very exclusive Mini Seven club.
We have fully serviced, checked and driven this Mini and it has a long no advisory MOT so it is ready to be enjoyed.
