We are very pleased to offer a real slice of Mini Cooper history and a Mini Cooper that is virtually unique amongst its peers. This is a 1999 Rover Mini Cooper BSCC LE which stands for British Saloon Car Championship. Only 100 of these awesome examples were produced by Rover to commemorate the Mini Cooper winning four races in the BSCC in 1968. They are a total Holy Grail Cooper and I have to say one of the if not the sexiest Rover Limited edition produced. They were only offered in two colours, Black or Brooklands Green. Our example is finished beautifully in Brooklands Green with matching Green leather, full Sportspack and unique decals which include the BMC Rosette, twin coach lines with the “V” flash on the wings and those stunning Minilight wheels. It is also accompanied with its original Rover handbooks. These very special Minis rarely become available and they offer its lucky new owner the chance to own a very special Mini indeed.
What makes our example even rarer is that it has lived a charmed life in Japan up until last year and has only covered an incredible 9300 miles in 27 years. This example is rarer still in that it is also Automatic. Very few Mini Coopers were given the Auto option and to find an Auto BSCC is even rarer. Spending its entire life in Japan means that is wonderfully preserved and has all of its original paint and panels and is as good underneath as it is on top.
On the road this Cooper drives very well indeed. The 1275 fuel injected engine is virtually silent and offers impressive performance, a stainless steel exhaust gives it a subtle but purposeful burble. The auto gearbox is an absolute delight and shifts gears seamlessly. Being a fuel injected Mini it is very simple to drive, simply turn the key, select drive and away you go. This model also features servo operated disc brakes, adjustable height suspension and a drivers airbag.
The interior is in fantastic condition, finished with green leather seats, matching door cards and the Burr walnut option door caps with matching door furniture. It has a full length Burr walnut dash and green leather steering wheel. Being from sunnier climes it also has fully functioning Air conditioning that is a very effective system and perfect for those sunny days.
This BSCC has an excellent body which is completely untouched and highly detailed. It has its original floors, sills and the correct vented sills. The Brooklands Green paint gleams and again is totally original. This is a stunning Mini in the flesh and really does draw a crowd very quickly. It would easily hold its own at any show or just make its new owner very happy out on the open road.
The Mini has been fully serviced, checked and driven and it has a full no advisory MOT so is ready to be enjoyed.
