We are very pleased to offer a very original low mileage Limited Edition British Open Classic. Only 1000 of these classy Minis were made and they are now very rare especially in this stunning condition. They are very distinctive, finished in metallic British racing green with coloured coded mirrors and Minilite wheels, Countryman tweed half leather trim and the all important full length electric sunroof. This example has only covered a very low twenty six thousand miles in 33 years with only three previous owners. It is accompanied with a large detailed service history folder including the original handbooks, MOT certificates and the original bill of sale. Supplied new by Rowles Garage in Chandlers Ford, it still proudly wears both its original supplying dealer number plates, tax disc holder and original key fob. British Open Classics have always been one of my favourite of the Rover Limited Editions as they have a real luxury feel and in this original spec with super low mileage they are very rare.
On the road this Mini is very easy to drive and has that low mileage taught responsive feel. The carb fed 1275 engine is smooth and delivers plenty of power through the rev band and the gearbox feels precise and accurate. A stainless exhaust gives it a subtle burble. This is also one of the last Minis to have the 1275 carb engine fitted. The experience is transformed at the touch of a button when the full length sunroof electric is opened, it gives this Mini a whole new dimension and offers open top motoring. This has always been the reason that Open Classic’s have been sought after as they have 1275 power, classy looks and open air driving.
The interior of this Mini is very well presented and is the best Open Classic one I have seen. The Countryman tweed half leather trim belies its years and is virtually unmarked, a testament to an easy life. It still has its original carpets and switch gear and the cream leather steering wheel is also very well preserved. It also has its original Rover Cassette player and the the all important roof lining and roof are immaculate. This Mini has the look and feel of a very well cared for example.
This Open Classic has a very solid shell with its correct vented sills and body coloured floor pans and solid boot floor. It still has most of its original factory clear underseal and is body coloured inside all four arches. The paintwork gleams and this Open Classic will quickly become the envy of your friends.
This Mini is fully serviced, checked, driven and tuned. It will be supplied with a full MOT so it will be ready to be driven and enjoyed.
