We are very pleased to offer a very rare and very eighties 1986 Austin Mini Ritz. Limited edition. Finished in metallic Silver leaf with, unique to this model, alloy wheels, satin black grille and Ritz decals. This is only the second time I have ever worked on and prepared a Ritz, this is how rare they are which will give its new owner a certain amount of cache as the chances are you will never see another. Only 2000 were produced for the UK with just 32 left on the road today, one of the rarest Minis….This stunning example has to be one of the best available. It has been in the same family since 1988, this is the first time it has become available since then. It is accompanied with a full and detailed service history which includes the original handbooks, every MOT certificate, nearly all of its tax discs and a raft of receipts. It has only covered 35k in 40 years. In 2017 it was fully restored and has seen only dry use since and as such is remarkable condition that can easily be shown or driven regularly as it would be so easy to maintain and enjoy.
On the road the Ritz is fantastic to drive, the low mileage 998 engine performs well with a precise gearbox. We have just fitted four brand new tyres so it has sharp handling to match the brisk performance, this model also has disc brakes so you will have confidence on the twisty stuff.
The interior is very well presented and as original as they get. It has all of its correct features as it did in 1985 including those fantastic seats that are, Claret Red, Prussian Blue and Osprey Grey velour with “Ritz” logos on the seats, matching door cards, original carpets, funky navy blue top and bottom dash rails with a matching steering wheel with a “Ritz” logo. It also has its original “functioning” MW/LW radio and rear seat belts.
This Ritz benefits from having a comprehensive restoration nearly 10 years ago and it has settled nicely. The underside is as clean as the top and is very well detailed. The rear subframe is gleaming and all of the running gear looks new. It has the correct vented sills, detailed boot area and engine bay. The lucky new owner will benefit from all this hard work and will be safe in the knowledge that they possibly own the best Ritz out there. Eighties limited editions in the correct specification are very rare and highly sought after.
The Mini has been fully serviced, checked, tuned and driven. It also has a full no advisory MOT and as of April next year will MOT and Tax exempt.
