We are very pleased to offer an absolutely stunning 1972 Austin Mini finished in rare period Aqua Blue. This stunning Mini has been an absolute pleasure to prepare and it is one that I should really keep as it has the perfect blend of being highly detailed coupled with fantastic performance. In 2007 it was comprehensively restored using a brand new British Motor Heritage body shell to what I can only describe as concourse condition. It has settled in very nicely since and only used for shows and fast road fun covering just 4000 miles in that time. It has also only had two owners and is accompanied with a Heritage certificate. From every angle it is stunning and will make its lucky new owner very happy indeed. Wherever I have taken it, people just have to stop and marvel at it.
Not only is it beautiful but it is also vey well sorted for the twisty stuff. It has a 1293cc engine with a Swiftune SW5 camshaft, duplex vernier timing chain, Mini Spares big valve head with 1.5 ratio roller rockers. All this is fed through twin SU carbs and with adjustable fuel pressure. Performance is very smooth and it very quickly gets up to speed, thanks to a taller final drive it has the advantage of being happy cruising at way beyond Motorway speeds. It sits on a very sexy set of ten inch Superlite wheels with Yokohama A-008 tyres and handling is taken care off with fully adjustable suspension. It also has Cooper S disc brakes and that subtle but purposeful RC40 exhaust. This Mini offers the driver the complete package of easy to use power and exact handling.
The interior is beautifully presented and again is highly detailed keeping its original seventies charm, the original Navy seats have been retrimmed and it has matching door cards and carpets. The roof ling is also unmarked. The all important three clock dash is present and correct and it also has a custom dash in front of the driver with a rev counter, voltage and vacuum gauges. It also has a centre console with a Kenwood CD player and analogue clock. A Mountney sports steering wheel finishes it all of very nicely.
The Mini has an amazing shell that is as detailed on the underside as it is on top. It is near spotless throughout and therefore very easy to maintain. The paintwork is gleaming and virtually unmarked. The engine bay is highly detailed as is the boot area that also has a removable boot board. This is a very good looking Mini from any angle.
The Mini has been fully serviced, checked and driven and will be supplied with a full MOT. It is also MOT and Tax exempt.
