We are very pleased to offer a stunning 1968 Mk2 Morris Mini Traveller. Finished in wonderful El Paso Beige with a contrasting Tan trim. This Traveller oozes sixties charm and instantly draws an admiring crowd wherever it is driven. This matching numbers example is presented in ready to show and use condition and has been a pleasure to prepare. Registered new in 1968 with only four previous owners, the last for over twenty years and in that time it has only covered a very low 36 thousand miles. Used sparingly until 1979 it was then stored until 1999 when it received a restoration which is fully documented in the history folder and supported with pictures. It has remained remarkably original and has settled in nicely with those excellent period looks. This Mini gets immediate attention wherever I have take it and rightly so. Being a MK2 it is even rarer, they were only produced for 18 months so seeing another on the open road is highly unlikely. It is accompanied with a service history folder which has numerous invoices, the original green V5 and a images of a Mini Magazine photo shoot. It has fantastic provenance which is key to owning one of these very versatile and special Mini variants. It has its original body number, commission number and FE number.
On the road this Traveller is a delight to drive. The original 998 engine holds strong oil pressure and is near silent. The gearbox is also precise. This model has dry suspension and is also fitted with a matching set of Dunlop SP tyres. The pure Mini experience is on offer here with ten inch wheels, excellent handling and a smoother ride thanks to the slightly longer wheel base. What you will be doing is smiling as this Mini has lots of period charm.
The interior is in fantastic condition and testament to its cared for life and low mileage. It is completely original apart from a Newton Commercial carpet set. It has its original seats, door cards and roof liner. The period Rokee dash adds to the looks and of course it has the three clock centre binnacle. It also has its original steering wheel, period map reading light and concealed USB and 12V charging point. The load are is very well detailed. The rear seats also fold flat.
The Traveller has a very well presented shell, it has its original floor pans, vented sills and is body coloured underneath and inside all four wheel arches. The paintwork gleams and is virtually blemish free and it really does belie its near 60 years. The engine is also highly detailed and the all important wood frame is the original one and again in very good condition. This Traveller can easily be shown but is also very useable which is what it was designed to do. What it will do is make you smile as much as it has me.
The Mini has been fully serviced, checked and driven. It is also MOT and Tax exempt.
