The Twin Cam 1.6 engine pushes out 114 BHP, rarer than the later detuned 90 BHP cars, and matches the sublime handling and gives it plenty of power and a real grin factor as well as being so easy to drive.
Our MX-5 has lived a charmed life and has only covered 85k in 32 years with only 4 previous owners. This is a rare original UK car, registered new by R. Andrassy & Son in Wakefield and it still wears its original dealer number plates. It is accompanied with a comprehensive service history, indicating 25 services since new, this has also been detailed in chronological order. It also has its original handbooks, and service book. The cam belt and water pump have also just been changed and it is fully serviced for the new owners peace of mind. It also has both of its original keys. It benefits from having Power steering, leather 3 spoke Momo steering wheel, electric windows and 14″ Alloys, all options available at the time. It has excellent provenance which is a key ingredient when choosing one of these excellent machines. It has been serviced regardless of its mileage.
On the road it is very easy to feel why these cars have a global following. The engine is very sweet and fires instantly and is mated to a smooth five speed transmission and it just feels as if its ready to be driven anywhere. Drop the roof down and the fun begins! Power is available right through the rev band and is accompanied with taught and precise handling. Near 50/50 weight distribution makes for an engaging drive, add in a twin cam engine and pop up headlamps and suddenly all the boxes are ticked.
The interior is in fantastic condition. The seats are showing very little ware and the same can be said about the switch gear. A simple but functional interior that is very driver focussed. This MX-5 has the feel of a very well cared for car.
This Mazda has gleaming Classic Red paintwork which belies its vintage with only minor signs of use. The rear arches are solid and the correct drain holes are present and correct. . The roof is also in fantastic condition and it also has the toneau cover.
The Mazda is fully serviced and has long no advisory MOT so it is ready to be driven, enjoyed and appreciated.
