We are very pleased to offer a very rare sight these days and a real slice of the eighties and an ever popular limited edition, the 1989 Austin Mini Designer. Finished in gleaming gloss black. Only 2000 of these unique limited editions were produced, designed by fashion designer Mary Quant. In two colours, black or white. They were styled with Nimbus grey bumpers, grille and headlamp rings. The interior was given a full make over with black and white stripy seats, red seat belts and a leather steering wheel with a Daisy motif that is Mary Quants emblem. This example also has a sexy set of deep dish Minilite wheels with Yokohama tyres and a stage one kit giving it a purposeful stance and a great sound track. This Designer has recently benefitted from a thorough restoration to a very good standard with photos of the build and a very long list of new parts meaning that its lucky new owner can enjoy Classic Mini motoring with added piece of mind that all of the hard work has been done.
On the road this Mini drives very well. The original 998 engine and gearbox have ben fully rebuilt and is super smooth and nearly silent. Performance is brisk and it easily keeps up with modern traffic. This model also features disc brakes.
As mentioned Designer Minis were given a very stylish interior and this one has all of its original features. They certainly stand out from the crowd from other Minis of the era and have always made this limited edition popular. It is also fitted with rear seat belts. It also has an uprated Pioneer CD/AUX/USB stereo and a 12 volt socket.
This Mini has a very solid shell and as mentioned has had much time and expense lavished on it with all new running gear, brakes, suspension and rear subframe. The Mini has body coloured floor pans and has been waxoiled. The paintwork is very well presented and virtually blemish free and the engine bay is nicely detailed. This is a very good looking Classic Mini that is huge fun to drive.
We have fully serviced, checked and driven this Mini and it has a long no advisory MOT so it is ready to start a new Mini adventure.
