We are very pleased to offer a super rare and very collectable 2001 Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500. Finished in the ever popular metallic Tahiti blue with contrasting Platinum Silver roof, bonnet stripes and four spot lamps. This example has only covered 31 thousand miles in 21 years with just four previous owners, the last owner cherished it for 16 years and it is also accompanied with a fully stamped service book, detailed service history folder and every MOT certificate. It also has many original Rover invoices and the original assembly line audit sheet. It was registered new by Martins in Hampshire and has remained local all of its life and still wears both of its original dealer number plates. Rover launched the 500 edition in late 2000 at the very end of classic Mini production and exclusively only 500 Cooper Sport 500 Minis were made. They have are full Cooper Sport spec: Platinum silver roof, matching leather trim and dashboard and third level brake light and they also have a plaque in the glovebox to remind you that you own a very special Mini indeed. Our 500 has a certificate from the 500 register and it is confirmed as being car number 115. These very rare and sought after Minis seldom come up for sale so this a fantastic opportunity especially given its very low mileage.
On the road this Mini drives very well indeed. The 1275cc engine is super smooth and near silent with excellent power delivery and the gearbox is precise. It has a Maniflow exhaust which gives it the correct Mini burble. This is an MPi Mini which stands for multi point fuel injection, all you need to do is turn the key and go, Further features include a drivers airbag, side impact beams and alarm and immobiliser. MPi Minis offer all the Classic Mini charm with a modern twist and thanks to taller gearing they cruise with ease at Motorway speeds.
This 500 has a well beautifully presented interior that stil has that new car smell. It has full Sport spec with Black leather with Platinum silver inserts, Aluminium 6 clock dash with magnolia dials and alloy door furniture. The roof lining, carpets and switchgear are all in excellent condition, and it still has its original Rover cassette player and Cooper floor matts.
This Cooper has a very solid shell which has its original factory wax oil underneath that has protected in very well. It has the correct original vented sills, original body coloured floors, boot floor and inner arches. All of the panels are original. This is an unrestored example and it wears its vintage well. The paintwork is very well presented with a deep shine and it gets immediate attention wherever I take it. . As you can see form the images this is a fantastic looking example that is super rare and very desirable.
The 500 is fully checked, serviced and driven and has full MOT so is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
