SOLD 1974 Morris Mini 850cc. MK3. Damask Red. Only 20k, 2 owners. matching numbers. Very original.

We are very pleased to offer a wonderfully preserved matching numbers 1974 Morris Mini 850. I adore this car and have enjoyed every minute working on it and preparing it but most of all driving it. This Mini has lots of charm and gets under your skin, and I really admire its originality and it must feel now to drive as it did 46 years ago. It was driven for the first four years of its life and then stored in a heated garage for 36 years, and it has only been used sparingly since and has covered a mere 20k with only two previous owners. It has all its original panels and from what I can see mostly original Damask red paintwork and it is a true survivor unrestored example, if your looking for a true slice of the seventies you may have just found your dream car.

On the road this Mini is a real joy. It has a tight low mileage feel and that is instantly noticable, being an 850 it offers the true Mini driving experience in its purist form. The engine is super smooth and responsive and the gearbox has a new feel that is seldom evident of any car of this vintage. Performance is brisk as these 850 engines are very revvy and it happily motors along on dual carriageways and of course is in its element on the twisty stuff with its 10 inch wheels and original steering wheel. I would be amamzed if this Mini did not make you grin.

The interior is a real joy to behold and a total timewarp. It is in total factory spec right down to the floor matts, single clock dash and unmarked red vinyl seats. The switch panel is unmarked which is the first time I have even seen this and it still wears its original Wadham Stringer dealer stcker in the back window.

This Mini has a very well preserved unrestored shell and appears to have all its original panels, it has the correct vented sills and original floors, sills and boot. The original FE numbers are also present. It has been waxoiled from new so is in good condition with very good panel gaps. The paintwork is mostly original and suits the originality of the car and wears its age well. What this Mini offers is originality and would easily sit on display at any show and as its not a restored trailer queen is very useable on a daily basis. We have fully serviced it and it also benefits from many new suspension and brake parts and four new tyres. It will also be supplied witha full MOT and is MOT and Tax exempt. Im confident its new keeper will adore it as much as I do.
