1968 Morris Mini Cooper MK2. 1293c. Stunning retro racer looks. Awesome machine ready to go.

We are very pleased to offer a very rare and awesome 1968 Morris Mini Cooper MK2. Im a big fan of the MK2 Cooper owning one myself, and this example has been an absolute pleasure to work on , prepare and most of all drive. It is one of the nicest and well presented examples that I have seen and its new keeper will have hours of fun with this Cooper.

Registered in 1968 and sold new by Stewart and Arden in London, this Cooper is accompanied with a large history folder detailing works and adventures through the decades and copies of all its original V5s including an extensive restoration of its original shell in 2014 and it still remains in fantastic ready to show or drive condition.

Mk2 Minis are a very rare sight these days, they were only manufactured for 18 months and are such rarer than Mk1 Minis. Our awesome example has a fantastic Cafe Racer look and is subtly styled with Group 2 arches, Cooper S reverse rims with a new set of Yoko Advan A008 tyres and door decals, simple but effective styling that gives this Cooper a real presence. The looks are more than matched by the performance , this Cooper is beyond S specification and does what a Mini Cooper should do, entertain you and make you smile. Its fitted with a 1293 Mini Sport engine with a stage 3 “S” head, piper 285 cam lightened and balanced flywheel all fed through twin 11/2 SU carbs and a maniflow exhaust . The remote change box is precise and smooth and the results are a quick Mini which is easily able to keep up with the modern stuff. The engine pulls well through the gears and the whole experience is very satisfying indeed.

The Racer theme continues inside with a custom dash with auxillary gauges including a rev counter and voltmeter and works style switches, there is also a very period Motalita steering wheel, supportive bucket seats and period harnesses. The brake and fuel lines are also fed internally.

As mentioned this Cooper had a very thorough restoration in 2014 with only minimal use since and is such presented in fantastic condition, the paintwork is gleaming and the shell is fantastic, it is the same colour underneath as it is on top and totally belies its 51 year vintage. The rear subframe was also replaced at the same time and it also has adjustable suspension and Koni shocks all round.

This Cooper is fully serviced and will be supplied with a full MOT and is course MOT and tax exempt. It offers a very versatile way into Cooper ownership as its not only a great road car, it would be great fun on a track and is easily of show quality.
