1979 Austin Mini 1000cc. Java Green. Only 22k & 2 owners fron new. Total Timewarp.

We are very pleased to offer a super slice of the 1970s in the form of a 1979 Austin Mini finished in the very period colour of Java Green with contrasting brown stripey trim. This Mini has had a very charmed life and has covered only 22k in forty years which equates to just 550 miles per year. It has had only two previous owners in that time which were mother and daughter. Its been a real pleasure working on this Mini as it reminds me of my first Mini many years ago, if only mine back then was in this condition!

This Mini was used sparingly by the two family members and then in 1997 was dry stored until last year hence its wonderful preservation. It has all its original panels and has never been welded, a sure testament to a very easy life. On the road its a real joy. It starts instantly and has a very sweet engine and precise gearbox as you would expect. It also holds strong oil pressure and performance is brisk. It still feels in its first flush of youth and it cant fail but make you smile. It also attracts lots of admiration as Minis in this original factory spec from this era are a very rare sight on todays roads especially unrestored examples.

As you can see from the images, this Mini has one of the best preserved Mini interiors I have seen for a long time. It has the all important three clock binnacle with water and oil gauges, its original steering wheel and those fantastic stripey seats and its original carpets. The roof lining is also very well preserved and this Mini has yet to have a radio fitted,

This Mini also has a very well preserved shell with all of its panels. The floor pans under the carpets are still like new and the boot floor is also very well preserved with an unused spare and tool kit. It has its original dealer number plate on the back and it still has its original grille and bumpers. The. paintwork is gleaming and virtually blemish free and it really does belie its 40 year vintage. It could easily sit on display at any show and would be sure to draw a crowd, but the real fun is out on the open road where it should be.

This Mini has been recommisioned from front to back with over £600 of parts. It also has a full no advisory MOT and as from this year is MOT and Tax exempt.
