We are very pleased to offer a fantastic unrestored one previous lady owner 1965 Austin Mini Traveller. I absolutley adore this Mini as I love its preserved condition and patina. Its a real time warp and refershing to see a true survivor that has not been restored into a condition that is unuseable like so many have. The previous owner accquired this Mini from E.S Motors in Chiswick when it was just a year old and kept it until this year. It is accompanied with a large history folder supporting its provenance which includes the original bill of sale, all previous copies of V5’s including the original one, owners handbook, service receipts and MOT history which supports it 38k from new.It was driven daily form 66 until 83 and then garaged and used sparingly since that time. The history folder also has several photogarphs of it through the decades. This MK1 Traveller has retained many of its early features, this is a rare smooth roof example and it also has its original door pull handles. In 1970 it was given a power boost with a 1275 engine and fitted with twin SU carbs, Cooper S wheels and brakes and a remote change gearbox. This makes this Mini even more useable and fun as it not only looks amazing but it also easily keeps up with traffic which does surprise many people. The original 850 block and gearbox are also included in the sale if you wanted to return it to an 850 engine.

On the road its great fun to drive. The 1275cc engine fires instantly and is very smooth and quiet and the gearbox is precise. Its recently had all new brakes and suspension so it stops and handles very well indeed. It gets an enourmous amount of attention when its out and about and rightly so.

The interior is also very well preserved and is enhanced by a unique wooden dashboard with auxillary water, amps and oil presssure gauges, not to mention a period Philips radio that still works and floor operated main beam switch. The seats and door cards are all original as is the roof lining. It has been fitted with a period sports steering wheel and a steering wheel column lock and an electric screen wash pump. It really is a fantastic place to be and it has the look, smell and feel that only a period vehicle can offer.

This Traveller has a very solid shell with body coloured floor pans, original boot floor and vented sills. It has a very solid subframe and most of the steering and braking components are new. It has very good panel gaps and the original wooden frame is in very good original condition and its very had to find a Traveller with its original wood. The paintwork is presentable and wares its 54 year vintage very well and suits it. It wold be a shame to paint the history away as its so unique in this condition. We have also fully serviced it, fitted two new front tyres and it also has a full MOT aswell as being MOT and tax exempt.

This a fantastic oppurtunity to own a wonderfully preserved example that will not only draw a crowd wherever it goes but is toatlly useable on a daily basis and is guaranteed to make you smile for many years to come. its the perfect partner to use on the many planned events for the Minis 60th Birthday which is this year.
