We are very pleased to offer an absolute time warp of a Cooper that we have lovingly recomissioned and lavished lots of time and expense on and its now ready to be enjoyed, cherished and driven. There are not many factory specification Coopers of this era left and they really are wonderful cars to own and drive and are worth preserving as they are now rare. This example has only covered 53k from new with four previous owners and is accompanied with its original Cooper handbooks and service book and both sets of keys. It has spent lots of time in dry storage and we have been through this Mini front to back, as it was so well preserved we thought it worthy of the full treatment. We have fitted a new heritage front panel, wings, A panels, complete scuttle and both vented outer sills. It has had a full glass out respray, which was its first, and all new chrome, rubbers, lights and decals. It has also had a mechanical overhaul with too many parts to list here but includes all new brakes, steering and suspension components so its ready to go and it looks amazing.
On the road this Cooper is a real joy to drive. The low mileage engine revs freely and the gearbox is very taught and precise. This is a Single point fuel injected example so you just need to do is turn the key and go. Perfromance is brisk and the handling is very good and precise like a Cooper should be. This Cooper has had an easy life and on the road it benefits from it. These models also benefit from servo assisted brakes and rear seat belts.
This Cooper has a very well preserved factory spec interior. The half leather seats are in fantastic condition as are the original carpets and roof liner. The original Rover stereo is still fitted and works well. The Cooper has a full length walnut dash and the green three clock Cooper binnacle and the all important leather steering wheel. The optional extra plastic boot tidy is still fitted in the boot but was removed for the pics.
As mentioned this Mini has just had a full respray and some replacement heritage panels. The shell is wonderfully preserved with its original floor pans and boot floor. Its still body coloured inside the rear arches and at some point it has been waxoiled underneath so is very solid. This Cooper offers the best of both worlds, it can be easily shown or used as daily driver. It has been fully serviced, has a long list of new parts and has a full no advisory MOT and is ready to go and be enjoyed.
