1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo. Series 1. Stunning matching numbers example, ready to go.

We are very pleased to offer a fine example of  the iconic and truly awesome Series 1 Ford Escort RS Turbo.
I have always been a huge fan of these amazing cars and have owned a few myself and had forgotten just how special these cars are especially from behind the wheel.

Our example is a full matching numbers car presented in very good condition, its covered only 88k in 32 years and is accompanied with a large and detailed service history folder, the last owner of ten years loved and cherished it, kept it in a heated garage and only covered about two thousand dry miles in that time.

On the road is where this RS comes into its own, this is an unrestored example and it feels nice and taught. The engine is very quiet and smooth and the gearbox is also very good, It fires instantly and has a nice RS burble courtesy of a Scorpion exhaust. Performance is very brisk and its running at standard factory spec with the exception of a  Baileys dump valve. It boosts very well indeed and it just cant but help make you grin from ear to ear, after all the Series 1 is a drivers car and this one makes you want to drive it all day. Get ready for the attention this RS receives, im used to it driving Classic Minis but this machine gets another level of admiration.

The interior is pure timewarp, virtually unmarked Recaro seats with no bolster wear, fantastic carpets, no cracks on the dash board and the original parcel shelf, it also has a RS four spoke steering wheel and an aftermarket stereo with CD/AUX. The interior is a real key to this cars easy life, its survived very well indeed.

This RS also has very solid shell and belies its 32 year vinatge. It has just been treated to a coating of wax oil so it can be used on the roads at any time, after all, this is a car that needs to be driven. We have further pics of the underside from before this coating being added and its white behind it. This is confirmed by its very good MOT history and the fact that it has never had to be stripped and restored as most have.

As mentioned this Series 1 has an eviable service history folder detailing pretty much its whole life. In 1998 it had a full engine rebuild at Brooklyn Ford with receipts to prove and still wears there dealer plates. In 2009 it had a new turbo, radiator and clutch and a cam belt kit in 2014 and has been servcied regularly by the same specialist since. It has a matching set of Avon tyres and will be suppiled with a ful years MOT and has just been worked through and sales preapred. Security wise it has a Auto watch CAT 1 alarm with remote central locking. It has also been an RS Owners club member for many years.

This awesome car is ready to go and make you part of a now very exclusive Series 1 club. These cars are very rare and very sought after and after spending time with this one I can see why.
