We are very pleased to offer a very rare survivor in the form of a 1975 Morris Mini Van. This van started its life some 43 years ago as a London Electricity board van and is probably one of only a handful that still survive. It was used up until 1985 and was stored until last year. It had only 2 previous keepers until that time and is showing only 47k which although i cannot warrant I am convinced is genuine.
This is a matching numbers example with its original 850 engine that gives it a real period charm out on the road. It still wares its original FE number on the inner wing and its original floor pan tag. It has recently had nearly three thousand pounds in parts spent on it and has been fully recommissioned front to back. The list of parts is detailed in the history folder and in breif covers all the brakes, suspension, engine and brightwork. At the same time it was repainted and fitted with four powder coated wheels and new tyres. The Van was resprayed at the same time keeping its original Electricity board colour.
On the road is where the fun starts. Mini Vans have a real period charm when out on the road, and nothing gets you more attention than any other variant than a Mini van especially a gleaming orange one. The engine is very liveley and it pulls well mated to a smooth gearbox. The suspension and braking system is basically new so it rides and stops very well.
The interior is very well preserved with its original seats and steering wheel. It has just been treated to a new carpet set and dash liner kit and a chrome rear view mirror. The rear bed is its original twin spare wheel set up that many Utility companies chose at the time and it has new fitted boards making it very presnetable. The sides are still in the original patina condition showing light use only.
This Van has a very solid shell with its correct vented sills, orange floor pans, its original load bed and solid subframes. Its refereshing to still find a van that has not been over restored and too good to use. This Van can be used or taken to shows the choice is yours. Its not concourse and its not restored its a van that has its original features and after being preserved in storage still has its original work van DNA running through it. What it will do is get you lots of attention and certainly make you smile.
This van has a full MOT, a bewildering list of new parts, is fully serviced and is ready to go. As from May this year it will also be MOT exempt and is already tax exempt.
